Important Information for Students

Australian Training Plus delivers Smart and Skilled courses for eligible students across the following regions: Richmond - Tweed, Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, New England and North West, Far West Orana, and Central West.

Eligible students are entitled to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III. Government funding is available for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas only.

Eligibility Requirements

Are you eligible for Smart and Skilled Training? Are you:

15 years old or over?
no longer at school?
living or working in NSW?
An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?

For further information regarding your eligibility please visit the Smart and Skilled website. To undertake a VET course you will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) which can be attained from the USI website.

You only need to create a USI once and it will stay with you for life.

Australian Training Plus has a comprehensive refund policy outlined in our Fee Withdrawal and Refund Policy.

Smart and Skilled has Fee-Free Scholarships which are available to eligible students.

People who are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence and/or their dependant(s) may be eligible for free training that is funded by the NSW government under the Smart and Skilled initiative. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT)

See our Student Handbook for a comprehensive explanation of RPL and CT and how they apply to your training and assessment. Any applicable RPL or CT will change the fee we charge.
