Chainsaw (Level 1)
Overview
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to safely operate and maintain hand-held chainsaws for cross-cutting fallen timber. It is suitable for individuals working in agriculture, horticulture, conservation, land management, or similar fields.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Prepare and assess the worksite for chainsaw operations.
- Identify and manage hazards and risks.
- Select and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance.
- Safely operate a chainsaw using correct cutting techniques.
- Complete post-operational checks and maintenance.
Duration: 12 hours
Entry Requirements
- Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
- Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.
