Food Safety Supervisor (Level 2)
Overview
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to ensure food is handled safely in a variety of hospitality and retail settings. It meets the requirements for Food Safety Supervisor training under state and territory legislation in Australia.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify and control food safety hazards
- Follow procedures for safe food handling and hygiene
- Prevent food contamination and cross-contamination
- Maintain cleanliness of food handling areas and equipment
- Implement food safety procedures in line with organisational and legal requirements
We will also cover the mandatory Key Focus Areas:
- Allergen Management
- Cleaning and Sanitising Practices
- Safe Egg Handling
- Food Act Offences

Duration: 6 hours for each unit
Entry Requirements
- Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
- Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.
- As of 1 September 2025, students must complete the unit SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety with Australian Training Plus. If you have already done this unit with another provider, you will need to complete it again to be eligible to receive a NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
What You Will Receive
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate. The cost for issuing the NSW FSS Supervisor Certificate by NSW Food Authority is $30. This is covered in the cost of the course.
