Overview

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to safely operate and maintain hand-held chainsaws for cross-cutting fallen timber. It is suitable for individuals working in agriculture, horticulture, conservation, land management, or similar fields.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Prepare and assess the worksite for chainsaw operations.
  • Identify and manage hazards and risks.
  • Select and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance.
  • Safely operate a chainsaw using correct cutting techniques.
  • Complete post-operational checks and maintenance.

Duration: 12 hours

Entry Requirements

  • Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
  • Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.
