Overview
This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to prepare and serve espresso coffee in a hospitality setting. It covers the essentials of operating commercial espresso machines, selecting and grinding coffee beans, extracting espresso, and texturing milk to produce a range of coffee beverages. It is suitable for hospitality workers, baristas, and individuals seeking employment in cafés, restaurants, or other food and beverage outlets.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Select and prepare coffee beans for service.
- Safely operate espresso equipment and grinders.
- Extract espresso and texture milk to industry standards.
- Present and serve espresso-based drinks professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of coffee-making equipment.
Duration: 6 hours in the classroom
Entry Requirements
- Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
- Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.
- Students must hold the pre-requisite unit SITXFSA005 and bring a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript as evidence.
