Overview

This course delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. It covers basic life support, casualty management, and the application of first aid procedures until professional help arrives.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Respond to emergency situations using DRSABCD action plan
  • Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants
  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Provide first aid for bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and other common injuries
  • Manage medical conditions such as asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, and seizures
  • Communicate details of the incident and complete documentation

Duration: 12 hours

Entry Requirements

  • Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
  • Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.

Other Info/FAQs: First Aid should be refreshed every 3 years and the CPR component every 12 months
