Overview

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

Traffic Controller:

• Control traffic using a stop/slow bat
• Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones
• Communicate effectively with road users and team members
• Set up and operate portable traffic control devices
• Identify and manage hazards in traffic environments

Traffic Management Implementer:

• Interpret and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
• Set up, position, and dismantle signage, barriers, and devices
• Conduct site risk assessments
• Monitor and adjust traffic control measures as required
• Ensure safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians
• Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and road authority guidelines

Duration: 6 hours

Entry Requirements

• Students are required to show the trainer original Evidence of Identity documents that add up to at least 100 points. These documents must be able to show a photo, date of birth, signature and current residential address.
• Students must hold a current NSW White Card.
• Students must be at least 17 years old.
• Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.

What You Will Receive

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a Statement of Completion (SOC) from us, which will allow you to start supervised work as a traffic controller, and is valid for 90 days, until you receive your TCWT Card issued by SafeWork NSW.
