Summary

This qualification reflects the role of entry level community services workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs

At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect. Work may take place in a range of community services organisations

Job roles
Job roles vary across different industry sectors and may include:

  • Community support worker
  • Welfare rights worker
  • Family support worker
  • Tenants Advisory Worker.

Course structure
To successfully complete this qualification, you must complete a total of 12 units of competency, including:

  • 5 core units
  • 7 elective units

Units of competency suitable for students to complete will vary depending on the chosen method of course completion and the suitability of the units based on individual student circumstances.
