(Pre-Employment Program)


Australian Training Plus is working with Teys Australia and Rural Fit to give students the opportunity to commence employment with one of Tamworth’s leading employers.

Teys is the one of the largest meat processors and exporters in Australia. We are excited to have formed a partnership with them to provide suitable team members for the Tamworth plant.


This intensive 3 week course covers topics such as;

  • The importance of physical activity and diet and how it contributes to workplace well-being
  • Manual handling
  • Workplace responsibilities
  • Workplace communications
  • Workplace health and safety
  • Time management
  • Knife sharpening
  • How to work in manufacturing and specifically in the food processing industry
  • How to manage your money
  • Career opportunities

    Entry requirements or Pre-requisites

    Students do not require any previous experience or qualifications to undertake this course, however you will  be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and Q-Fever vaccination.

    Outcomes

    On successful completion of this course there is  the opportunity for ongoing employment.

    On completion students will receive a Statement of Attainment listing all units of competency completed.  Students will present their Statement of Attainment to potential employers as evidence of their qualification. The Statement of Attainment can also be used to provide evidence of previous study for credit transfer towards other qualifications.

    Course Fees

    This course is supported by Training Services NSW under the Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities Prevocational & Part Qualification Program.

  • No longer at school? (if you are still attending school you will need to be signed out)
  • Living or working in NSW?
  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?

  • If you answered ‘Yes' to all four questions, then you're eligible to enrola in a government-subsidised course with an approved Smart and Skilled training provider.
