This training is mandatory for anyone working with gaming machines in NSW. It provides practical skills to promote responsible
gambling, minimise harm, and comply with legal requirements.
The RCG course is designed to:
Clarify the roles, responsibilities and expectations of working with gaming machines, as well as the laws relating to responsible gambling practices
Provide a clear idea of what is expected of you in the workplace
Provide a greater understanding of how you as a staff member can promote responsible gambling behaviours and minimise gambling harm in gaming venues.
RCG training is mandatory if your work duties involve gaming machines. To find out what training applies to your job role, visit: Get
started: Training you need for liquor and gaming work in NSW | NSW Government
Certification: After successfully completing the face-to-face course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment from
us, and an email from Liquor and Gaming NSW with a link to complete an RCG online assessment. Once the online assessment has been
completed, Liquor and Gaming NSW will email you your interim certificate, which is valid for 90 days and allows you to work immediately with
gaming machines.
Take your interim certificate and 100 points of ID to a Service NSW centre to obtain a competency card. If you already have a digital
competency card, the RCG endorsement will automatically be added.
