Entry Requirements
  • Students are required to provide ID on the day of training
  • Students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz prior to enrolment.

  • Overview

    This five-day course is designed for elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their role effectively under the Work Health and Safety Act. It is a mandatory requirement that HSRs complete this training within three months of election to exercise their full powers, including issuing Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and directing unsafe work to cease.

    By the end of the course, you will be able to:
  • Understand the WHS legislative framework
  • Identify the duties and responsibilities of key workplace parties
  • Effectively consult and communicate on WHS matters
  • Participate in risk management and incident investigation
  • Exercise powers such as issuing PINs and directing unsafe work to stop

  • Certification: You will receive a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of this course.
