Certificate IV in Ageing Support

Summary

This course provides graduates with the qualifications needed to work at a supervisory level in Aged Care facilities. Workers at Certificate IV level may be expected to provide services to individuals with complex needs, work with groups, provide training and support to promote independence and community participation, plus liaise with professionals and other service providers.

Possible roles for people holding this qualification include:

  • Accommodation Support Worker
  • Assistant Hostel Supervisor
  • Care Supervisor, Care Team Leader
  • Day Activity Leader
  • Hostel Supervisor

Course Structure

To successfully complete this qualification, you must complete a total of 18 units of competency, including:

  • 15 core units
  • 3 elective units
